VARIOUS - NIGHT OWL 3 IT REALLY HURTS ME GIRL (JOE BOY 007)

Another winner from the guys at Joe Boy, 25 Northern Soul anthems covering the whole rare soul spectrum, with some tracks making their debut on cd. The opening track is a duet version of "The Sweetest Feeling" (Jackie Wilson and Erma Franklin). In "I've Goot The Need" Chuck Jackson shows how powerful his voice is while Leroy Taylor's "Oh Linda" is 24 karat gold. As usual in this series the cd is split in 2 parts, the first one is "The Wigan Years", where classics abound, while the second is dedicated to "The Spirit of Wigan" with a particolar emphasis on more recent discoveries: Drizabone's "Pressure" is a modern soul monster, one of the 90s masterpieces. The Flashlight's "She's Pulling My Strings" is Philly Soul at its best, a joyous dancer of the first order. If you attend the 100 Club you surely have heard many times the storming (and ultra rare) "Man Oh Man" by Walter & The Admirations on La-Cindy (now you can play it at home any time you want!). If this isn't enough, in the deluxe packaging you will get also a 45 with "It Really Hurts Me Girl". Don't miss this one.
