BEVERLEI BROWN - NEXT TO YOU (DOME, CD27)

At last! Beverlei Brown debut album made it to our cd player...I confess I have been searching and wanting it quite a lot...and my search has been fully repaid! Cd kicks off with a great cover version of the modern soul classic "Somebody Knows How You Feel" and this version though different has the same freshness and soulfulness than the original. Nothing else to say, it is the most important thing for a cover version!!!The whole cd goes very smoothly through each track, I definetly prefer the more soulful tunes than the modern R&B ones...so if I have to mention my faves...you'll get "Could be You" duet with Dennis Taylor, and "Gonna get Over You" present in two awesome versions. I'd like this cd to draw the attention of italian & european soul fans...so let's hope for a Euro-tour in Spring! Am I asking too much?
