It is surely worth saying that the single "Can't Stop Thinking About You" went # 1 on the UK Sweet Rhythms Chart on Solar Radio and is published in the UK soul magazine Echoes. This week the CD entered the "Serious Soul Chart" in Finland at # 17. In over 15 years of activity, starting from gospel singing, the Guys worked on an extremely mellow, cool soul-jazzy sound. And from the very start this Cd gives to the listener a general feel-good vibe, that stays on him hours after the listening. Kendall and Kelvis work on the vocal armonies with extreme care, giving so much power to the lyrics that even the musical work gaines in soulfulness. That's why all the soul ballads are so brilliant and stylish, especially track number 6, Priority, but I feel like pointing out so many good songs Soul Mate and If You Ever with its pulsating rythm and the great With me. But don't think of a cd exclusively built on soul ballads, cause On Kloud 9 features also some strong dance floor oriented tracks. Thanks to their London connection, the Duffie brothers have a track with Incognito, Promise a real attractive up tempo number that can be one of the Modern monsters of the year. Saxophonist Kirk Whalum puts all his grace into one of the tracks: Make you Mine a soul gem just as good as the fresh Let's not Lose featuring Karen Bernod on vocals. Many new productions lack of strenght, and you don't feel like playing the record again, but this is definetly not the case!! You will go through the track list, again & again, just cause you feel the need to listen to that track once more! I also personally enjoyed very much the idea of ending the album with three intrumentals...a quality choice... all the ingredients here speak of a Cd not to be missed, if you are a cool cat, don't leave your copy on the shelves of the local record shop!
